BaitoneAlpino Suggests: Limone sul Garda
Located on the western shore of Lake Garda, in the province of Brescia, Limone sul Garda is one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. Nestled in a lush Mediterranean landscape, it is one of the lake's most admired and visited destinations for lovers of sports, relaxation, and nature. Its exceptionally mild year-round climate has made it famous for citrus production; these fruits have been cultivated since the 18th century in traditional “limonaie” (lemon houses)—structures that remain active and open to the public today. Visitors can explore the picturesque alleys of the historic center, relax along the flower- and palm-lined promenade, and enjoy an aperitif and a delicious dinner by the lakeside. A highlight not to be missed is a guided tour of the Limonaia del Castèl, easily accessible from the village center. A bike ride along the famous cantilevered cycle-pedestrian path—which winds for three kilometers from the village center to the border with Trentino—is also a must.
