Baitone alpino Suggests: Bolca

Bolca is a mountainous locality in the Lessinia Regional Park, in the province of Verona, known for its extraordinary fossils of animals and plants, and above all for their perfect degree of preservation. The fauna reflects the condition of a marine-coastal habitat and more specifically of a tropical lagoon type. Among the various fossils found, we can mention some crustaceans, reptiles, some bird feathers, various species of insects, and above all numerous fish, over 150 species, including sharks. The plant species found, over 270, include tropical plants, algae, palms and marine phanerogams. In the Bolca area, specific fossil sites of paleontological interest have been identified, in particular four: Mount Spilecco, Pesciara, Mount Postale and Mount Purga.
