Jubilee churches
A jubilee church is a place of worship designated during a Holy Year (Jubilee) for pilgrims who wish to obtain plenary indulgence, a special indulgence granted by the Catholic Church during this period. In practice, they are churches where the faithful can go to live a more intense experience of faith, participate in moments of prayer and receive the sacraments, with the aim of renewing their spirit and obtaining forgiveness of sins. In the Lake Garda area, you can find: the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona in Spiazzi and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino in Peschiera del Garda, both in the province of Verona, and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Carmine in S. Felice del Benaco and the Basilica of Lonato del Garda, both in the province of Brescia.
