BaitoneAlpino suggests: Sentiero della Maestra
Excursion in the Lower Sarca very interesting for the possibility of visiting the former oolite quarry and to enjoy the panorama that offers suggestive glimpses of the northern part of Lake Garda and the countryside of the Valley up to Lake Calavino. The path takes its name from the itinerary that the teacher Ketty Tantardini Bombardelli took every day, at the beginning of the last century, to reach the village of Braila where she taught in the elementary school, starting from Dro. Today the itinerary that takes her name is much longer, and its departure is from the Moletta di Arco and arrives at the town of Dro. From Moletta, take path no. 667 that indicates the “Sentiero della Maestra”; you will find these signs to show you the way along the entire route. After about 45 minutes of walking you reach the Case Caproni, inside the Bosco di Caproni, near the oolite quarries. We continue along the same path, we take a stretch of asphalt road, and then we return to the woods and climb up to Dosso Grande. Now we go down and near the hamlet of Braila we take a stretch of asphalt road and then return to path 667. This stretch is the actual path that the teacher used to take. We go down until we reach the valley and then we return to the starting point following the Anello Garda Sarca signs in the direction of Riva del Garda. The route is active all year round but is not recommended in case of snow, for this reason, before leaving, consult the competent tourist offices and/or the reference refuges. Remember to wear comfortable trekking shoes, Nordic walking poles and water.
